chaiicoffee

chaiicoffee opened its doors to the people of Ashford, Surrey, for the first time in 2021. We are a simple group of people who love good coffee, food, and friends. We believe all these things are the core ingredients for a fulfilling experience at chaiicoffee.
At chaiicoffee, we had a simple concept behind our belief: Offer an experience complete with freshly prepared seasonal food and ‘specialty’ coffee.
But that’s not all! We want to provide the authentic experience of Indian street food culture with our range of Indian Street Food from our Signature Menu.

Our Food:

We are proud to tell you that our food items are handmade and freshly prepared using the finest ingredients every day. Since our menu is seasonal, what you may find today might not be there tomorrow, such is the nature of fresh produce ?.
Not everyone has the same dietary requirements, and we acknowledge this with care. We cater towards vegan diets and address various allergen/dietary requirements. All you have to do is enquire with one of our chaiicoffee team members and inform us of your preferences.

Our Coffee:

Did you know that there was a time when the world existed without coffee? Hard to fathom, but it’s true!
So, how did we humans discover coffee? To answer this question, we have to give credit to our four-legged friends: the goats!
The tale goes that a small herder in the Ethiopian plateau, called Kaldi, used to take his goats to a nearby field. He noticed that his goats were quite energetic when he brought them back to the barn and did not sleep the whole night.

The situation left Kaldi puzzled until he saw his goats eating wild berries from a tree, and once he brought them back, they were acting in the same energetic way.
Kaldi narrated his discovery about his goats and the berries to the clergy of a local monastery. To find the answer to the discovery himself, the clergy made a drink using the berries and realised that it kept him focused during his long hours of evening prayer. He then shared his finding with other monks at the monastery. Soon, the discovery of energy berries started travelling to surrounding villages.
The discovery quickly moved east, and the coffee itself soon touched the Arabian Peninsula. Once it reached the peninsula, it was about time the coffee spread across the world.
At chaiicoffee, we only use 100% Arabica beans from the South American region of Brazil and Honduras. Our coffee beans are 100% Fairtrade certified! It means that they are sustainably grown and ethically sourced. We roast our coffee beans in small batches so that you can enjoy the fresh aroma in every sip of coffee you take.
